Food Worker Cards

All Washington food workers must obtain a Food Worker Card through a class and test authorized by the Washington State Department of Health. This is the only approved program in Washington for obtaining a food worker card. Your Washington food worker card is valid anywhere within the state.

Certified Food Protection Manager Course

In Whitman County, all food establishments categorized as medium risk or higher are required to have one person on staff with a completed ANSI-accredited Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) Course. The employee is not required to be present at the establishment at all times, but a copy of a valid certificate must be available during inspections.
