This is a position that supports professional staff and carries out a variety of health & nutrition service duties including: WIC certifications, education and training activities and programs; develop public awareness and health promotion activities; direct client contact. This position will work in both the Pullman and Colfax offices and may require travel around Whitman County, Spokane or to state trainings in Western Washington.
Nature of Work
- Provide technical support to professional staff (3/days week).
- Provide direct service to clients participating in the WIC supplemental food program (2/days week).
- Act as Vital Records Chief Registrar.
- Provides support for Random Moments under Medicaid Administration Clearing.
- Refers clients to community resources or other health department programs.
- Work with Registered Dietitian, Public Health Nurse and other public health staff.
- Participate is state Department of Health trainings, staff meetings, in-services, and workshops as needed and related to the job.
- Participate in and conduct community health education activities and programs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a health or nutrition related field and/or health education and services experience.
- Associates of Arts degree in health education and services experience preferred.
- Will consider High School graduates with related experience and willingness to learn.
Wage and Benefits
Starting Wage: $24.88/hr
Full Wage Range: $24.88-$29.73/hr
