Cribettes & Sleep Sacks

Whitman County Public Health provides eligible families with cribettes, sleep sacks, and safe sleep education.

Who Qualifies?

You must be a Washington State Resident and be income eligible.

How do I know if I am income eligible?

  • Current participants of WIC, SNAP, TANF, CHIP, and/or Medicaid. You will need to take a picture of your active program card or other proof of program participation during the application process.
  • You may also qualify if you meet the WIC Income Guidelines below. You will need to take a picture of a pay stub or income statement during the application process.

How do I show I am a Washington Resident?

You must provide appropriate Proof of Washington State Residency.

  • Driver’s license
  • Student ID
  • Military ID
  • Utility bill

Whitman County Public Health provides eligible families with car seats and booster seats. Anyone is eligible for an installation.

Bike Helmets

Whitman County Public Health has been working to prevent head injuries in children by provide bicycling helmets throughout the county.

We have a supply of bicycle helmets in various sizes for children, if your child needs one stop by one of our WCPH office locations during normal business hours.

Put the helmet on your head. Look Up. You should see the bottom rim of the helmet.

Step 2 ears

Step 02: Ears

Make sure the straps form a “V” under your ears when buckled. The straps should be a little tight but comfortable.

Step 3 mouth

Step 03: Mouth

Open your mouth as wide as you can. Does the helmet hug your head? If not, tighten the straps.

Safe Home Kits & Medicine Lock Boxes

Safe Home Kits

As part of WCPH’s SafeKids efforts, we have started to provide safe home kits to local clinics to distribute to Whitman County families as needed.

We’ve partnered with: WMG Colfax, Palouse Peds, Pullman Family Medicine and WSU Family Medicine Residency Center to help parents and guardians get the materials needed to make their homes safer for their children thus reducing the childhood injury rate within Whitman County.

If your child is 12 months or younger and you are at your child's pediatrician appointment, ask to take home one of WCPH's Safe Home kits.

Any medication—with or without a prescription—can be harmful if taken in the wrong way or by the wrong person. Lock Boxes are one of the most effective deterrents to accidental poisonings, overdose, medicine theft, and misuse.
